ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel. Johannesburg is a rapidly changing city that offers visitors an experience as unique and diverse as the city itself.

Garden Court Sandton is ideally placed in the heart of Sandton, one of Johannesburg’s most prestigious suburbs. The hotel is set across from Nelson Mandela Square with its high end range of shops, restaurants and entertainment options.

Tonight we will enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, explore Johannesburg on a Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour with an English speaking guide. Highlights include Hector Peterson Memorial and Mandela House.

Day 3

After breakfast and check-out, transfer to the airport to fly to Moditlo River lodge.

Moditlo River Lodge sits in the heart of the Blue Canyon Conservancy, a stretch of protected land in close proximity to the world-renowned Greater Kruger National Park. Depending on the time of year, guests may encounter elephants, leopards, rhinos, cheetahs and hippos as well as a pack of wild dogs.

Day 4

Immerse yourself in the varied wildlife of the Greater Kruger National Park on a morning and afternoon game drives. Alternatively, enjoy scheduled activities at the lodge.

Enjoy game drives in the morning and afternoon as well as other scheduled lodge activities.

Day 6

Port Elizabeth offers beautiful beaches, great surf spots and excellent water sports. Marine life in the bay is also sensational, with plenty of dolphins and whales that can be spotted throughout the year.

Day 7

After breakfast and check out, depart for Knysna with sightseeing along the way. Experience the sights of Tsitsikamma National Park - Storms River Mouth, breathtaking Big Tree and the beautiful Knysna Garden of Eden.

Premier Resort The Moorings is in the idyllic town of Knysna, along the celebrated Garden Route. This area is renowned for its distinctive natural beauty and this hotel is on the banks of the beautiful Knysna Lagoon.

Day 8

Take the ferry to Knysna’s famous Featherbed Nature Reserve with

its abundance of plant, bird and small wildlife, including the rare Blue duiker, and a variety of marine life from dolphins to seals and the chance of whales in season.

Day 9

Depart Knysna for George today. Explore the dazzling Cango Caves and encounter ostriches on a tractor safari. Located between the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains just outside of George in Herold’s Bay, the 5 Star Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa offers a luxurious experience.

Day 10

Today is at your leisure to explore this area that is renowned

for its pristine beaches, indigenous forests and nature reserves. Alternatively, make use of the first Ernie Els signature golf course in South Africa found on the property.

Day 11

Discover the country’s leading wine region of Stellenbosch, centred around a historic town that features an elegant mix of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings, yet exudes a modern vibrancy.

Continue onto Cape Town, a city that is defined by its unique blend of cuisines and landscapes. This beautiful city is crowned by the magnificent Table Mountain National Park, which offers amazing views over the region.

The Portswood Hotel is in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. The hotel has particular historical significance, as the lobby was built around the well and cells for prisoners that were en-route to Robben Island.

Day 12

Today enjoy a half day Cape Town City & Table Mountain Tour with an English speaking guide. This morning take the ferry to Robben Island (weather permitting) and visit the famous prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years.

Continue on to a guided tour of the historical and cultural sights of Cape Town. Then take a trip to the top of the world, high above the clouds on the famous Table Mountain (weather permitting). Enjoy dinner tonight at Gold restaurant with return transfers.

Day 13

This morning say farewell to your guide at the railway station, as you embark on your Rovos Rail journey to Pretoria.

Experience the elegance of rail travel on Rovos Rail, one of the most luxurious trains in the world. This 1,600 kilometre journey combines the opulence of pre-war travel with subtle modern innovations. Overnight onboard.

Day 14

Today you’ll arrive in Kimberley. Disembark for a tour of the city, Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole, before continuing your rail journey.

Day 15

Arrive in Pretoria and make your way to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the Ilala Lodge, which boasts impressive views from the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi River.

One of the seven wonders of the natural world, Victoria Falls captures the hearts of many with its dramatic falls and exceptional wildlife viewing.

Day 15

Today enjoy a guided tour of Victoria Falls including transfers with a local guide. The tour takes you to the best view points of this iconic waterfall, allowing you to soak up the powerful and enigmatic atmosphere of Victoria Falls.

Day 16

Today is at your leisure to experience all this area and property has to offer, including golf activities.

This evening enjoy a Zambezi Explorer Sunset Cruise. Watch the sun slowly set over Africa’s mighty Zambezi River whilst enjoying views of the river, wildlife and islands the boat meanders through.

Day 17

After breakfast and check out, transfer from Ilala Lodge to Victoria Falls Airport.
